Screening of the documentary Tout déballer

As part of World Recycling Day, the city of Sainte-Marthe-sur-le-Lac invited its residents to attend the screening of the documentary Tout déballer, free of charge on March 17 at 6:30pm at the community center. The screening will be followed by a question period with Marie-Christine Thibault from Éco Entreprises Québec. Drawings and crayons will also be available on site for children accompanying their parents.

This documentary, produced by Sylvain Allard and Sophie Lambert in collaboration with Éco Entreprises Québec (ÉEQ) and the School of Design of the University of Quebec in Montreal (UQAM), lifts the veil on the complex system that lies behind packaging. As a graphic designer and professor at the UQAM School of Design, Sylvain Allard sought to explore, to better understand in order to better define, the role of the designer and his responsibility in the search for solutions to environmental issues related to our modes of production and consumption, of which packaging is one of the most important. He therefore went to meet various stakeholders and leaders involved in the ideation, design, marketing and end-of-life management of packaging to survey experts on the issue. Unpacking everything also aims to inform and educate consumers about their responsible and thoughtful consumption choices, but also about the role they play in the proper management of end-of-life packaging.
