Watering and car washing ban:
Deux-Montagnes, Rosemère, Bois-des-Filion, Lorraine

(NSN)
warter shortage

Water in the Mille-Îles River is at its lowest level in forty years for May. The virtual absence of rain since early spring has done nothing to improve the situation. Yet, this river is our water treatment plant’s sole source of supply.

Under the circumstances, the towns of Deux-Montagnes, Rosemère, Bois-des-Filion and Lorraine have no choice but to introduce a watering ban, which will remain in effect throughout their territory until further notice. Car washing is also prohibited. In the case of vegetable gardens and flowerbeds, only manual watering is allowed, provided no more than the amount of water required is used.

Anyone breaching this ban will be subject to a fine. It is important for everyone to remember that only the reasonable and rational use of water will allow us to avoid the worst, should this summer’s anticipated drought materialize.
