Revamping of numerous Deux-Montagnes parks
(NSN)

The City of Deux-Montagnes is happy to announce that the renovation and upgrade of numerous parks will be completed before classes resume. The children can now have fun and play in the new modular play structures at Olympia Park, along Guy Street. A lovely landscaping design, built with large excavation rocks found during municipal works, welcomes passers-by at the entrance to the park.

A little further on, the Oswald-Sullivan Park, located on Mathys Crescent, is currently under renovation. New game modules, swings and street furniture are now being installed. A new landscaping design, including many trees, will put the finishing touches on the park’s new installations.

Over on Ronsard Street, the Du Coteau Park was entitled to a complete overhaul. A large game module with three slides and new swings were installed, to the delight of the young ones and their parents. A new landscaping design enhances the premises and adds colour to the already-luxurious vegetation.

To mark this investment totalling over $400,000, Mayor Marc Lauzon and some of his councillors, Messrs. Mario Saint-Charles, Denis Joanette and Gilles Saint-Marseille proceeded with an official visit of the revamped parks. “All of these parks had been sadly neglected and the games had become dangerous,” said the City Councillor Mario Saint-Charles, representative for Leisure & Community Services. “The citizens asked us to renovate these parks and we worked towards providing Deux-Montagnes families with parks that are safe and fun for their children,” added Mayor Marc Lauzon.

These infrastructures and renovations were funded in part with the help of the new Parks Fund, implemented 3 years ago.  This source of financing avoids increases to the City debt and property-owner taxes. The citizens of Deux-Montagnes can now take advantage of these newly-revamped parks.
