The Deux-Montagnes Artists’ Trail
August 22 and 23
By Author • NSN

The Culture Commission and the Deux-Montagnes Cultural Association would like to invite all citizens and art enthusiasts to travel the Artists’ Trail (Route des artistes) which will be held next August 22 and 23. A first in Deux-Montagnes!

During this event, 26 artist painters and sculptors from Deux-Montagnes and the surrounding area will present their know-how to visitors who can seen them at work, live, in their creative environment. Fifteen of them will exhibit at the Petite école jaune (Little Yellow Schoolhouse) and the eleven others will exhibit in their own workshops between 10 am and 4 pm. This cultural getaway was organized to promote regional art and culture and it is a reflection on our city’s artistic wealth and dynamics.

The itinerary and workshops along the Artists’ Trail will be broadcast in the next edition of our municipal bulletin L’Express, to be delivered on this August 15. The trail map will also be posted on the City’s website at www.ville.deux-montagnes.qc.ca, in municipal buildings and at the Petite école jaune (Little Yellow Schoolhouse, 1304 Oka Road). The Deux-Montagnes artists who are opening their workshops to the public are: Naomi Bellos, Sylvie Nadon, Marie-Andrée Côté, Caroline Fafard, Ken Collins, Ginette Rivest, Carmen Doréal, Nancy Daigneault, France Gagnon, Gabrielle Savoie Duchesne and Julie Larouche. At the Petite école jaune, art aficionados can also admire the works of Jean-Pierre Brunet, Kurt Reimann, Réjeanne Reiman, Michel Céré, Lawrence Otvos, Juliette Langlais, Susan Dettmers, Jaqueline Dionne, Charles Alexandre, Gisèle Charbonneau, Suzanne Laparé, Jeannine Champagne, Rita Jéhodek, Denis Beaudry and Louise Bigras. For all additional information concerning the Artists’ Trail, dial 450 491-6735 and leave a message.

The City of Deux-Montagnes would like to congratulate Michel Céré, artist painter responsible for this project, as well as the members of the Culture Commission, the Deux-Montagnes Cultural Association and all participating artists for organizing and holding this event and making it accessible to all.
