A few weeks before its traditional golf tournament scheduled next July 17, the City of Deux-Montagnes convened the event’s major partners and collaborators to extend its thanks in recognition of their involvement.
Golfers will register at the Deux-Montagnes Golf Club as of 9 a.m. and will then be invited to a delicious brunch, which will be served at 9:30 a.m. The tournament will be played in a cordial setting, under summer conditions, in Vegas format with a shotgun start at 11 a.m. Scheduled to end around 5 p.m., the tournament will then be followed by a cocktail dinner and the distribution of awards and prizes.
Foursomes will play the course under the Honorary Presidency of Mr. Aimé Struthers, resident of Deux-Montagnes since 1942 and City Councillor for 16 years between 1970 and 1990. Very involved as a volunteer within the community, Mr. Struthers now holds the position of treasurer for the Olympia Corporation, as well as president for the Deux-Montagnes Municipal Housing Authority (Office municipale d’habitation). Well known for his sense of humour and his dynamic nature, Mr. Struthers will have no trouble cheering on the players!
Remember that the profits generated by this activity will be donated to various community organizations. Last year, after the 28th tournament, a total of $25,000 was distributed. This year, the City once again hopes to raise as much money as last year, or more. These funds will be donated, by way of the Culture & Leisure Youth Fund, to associations whose objectives are related to the welfare of our youngsters, as well as to sports, leisure and culture.
