Marijuana grow-op discovered in Blainville
(NSN)

On April 30, the members of the l’Escouade régionale mixte gangs, or Regional Gang Squad of North Shore, dismantled a marijuana grow-operation linked to a street gang on the territory of Blainville. Three suspects were arrested in the rented residence in the district of Fontainebleau.
Ten matured marijuana plants were discovered in a room hidden underground. The search was the result of an three-week investigation, following a tip from the public concerning suspicious activity at the address in question. The three suspects appeared in court May 1 under charges of marijuana production and possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking.
The investigators of the North Shore Regional Gang Squad, or ERM, want to remind the public that the growing marijuana in a private residence can be dangerous to the health of its occupants. Mold and excessive humidity can lead to respiratory problems in the long-term.
Any information relating to street gangs in the North Shore can be transmitted to investigators of the ERM unit by phone at (450) 662-4636 or by email at infogang@ville.laval.qc.ca.
The North Shore Regional Gang Squad is a group of investigators composed of
authorities from Terrebonne, Repentigny, Saint-Jérôme, Thérèse-de-Blainville, Laval and the Sûreté du Québec. It is devoted to stopping criminal street gang activity.
