Grants to accredited organizations
Town of Two Mountains gives $50,000 in subsidies to local groups
(NSN)

‘We feel it is essential for the municipal government to assist these
organizations,’ said Two Mountains Mayor Marc Lauzon, as he
handed out the town’s annual subsidies to community groups

There were smiles all around at Two Mountains Town Hall on June 26, as organizers with various groups working in the community, who had gathered for the municipality's annual subsidy allotment ceremony, left in the end with cheques to continue their operations. In all, close to 40 non-profit organizations shared subsidies given out by the town totaling $50,000 this year.
Once a year
The funds subsidize groups involved in various causes and activities, including charitable foundations, support groups, culture, sports and social organizations. Like many other cities and towns, the Town of Two Mountains lends its support in the form of grants at least once a year to groups which actively take part in local life and the well-being of the Two Mountains community.
Assistance essential – Mayor
"The work and the social involvement of community groups are very important for all the members of city council, as well as the different municipal services," said Mayor Marc Lauzon. "This is why we feel it is essential for the municipal government to assist these organizations and, in so doing, recognize their importance within the community. We want these organizations, doing a wonderful job of primary importance, to feel supported by the city."
