Temporary closure of Oka road
NSN

The City of Deux-Montagnes would like to inform the population that a portion of Oka Road will be temporarily closed as of Monday, June 2, as new traffic lights will be installed at the corner of 9th Avenue. Oka Road, in Deux-Montagnes, will therefore be closed to all circulation between 9th and 11th Avenues, on weekdays, for approximately 2 to 3 weeks. Only local traffic will be permitted. This temporary measure will apply on weekdays only and, unless some major obstacle should arise, traffic will be reinstated on weekends.
During this period, westbound traffic will be diverted via 8th Avenue, Henri-Dunant Street and 15th Avenue. Another alternative for motorists driving in this direction would be to bypass the construction zone via 8th Avenue, Du Lac Boulevard and 12th Avenue. On the other hand, eastbound traffic will be diverted via 11th Avenue, Henri-Dunant Street and 8th Avenue. Construction and “Detour” signs will be adequately installed to inform and guide motorists.

Let us specify that the purpose for implementing traffic lights at the corner of Oka Road and 9th Avenue is to ensure the security of pedestrians crossing this intersection on a daily basis, including young students attending Sauvé School.

The City of Deux-Montagnes would like to thank one and all for their patience and cooperation.  For additional information, please call the Public Works Department at 450.473.4688.
