While a number of municipalities in the Montreal region appear to have accepted the idea that Canada Post will be installing community mail boxes on public rights-of-way as well as on the edges of private property, Giguère says he stands behind what he sees as an overall public opposition to the plan.

Margaret Lavallée won a by-election held on July 13 in Deux-Montagnes to elect a new municipal councillor in the du Golf district, following the departure of former councillor Robert Montplaisir.
